Thanksgiving in America

Today is a special day in the United

States. It is almost equal to Christmas. Today we celebrate Thanksgiving. This day originated from the pilgrims who immigrated here hundreds of years ago. As they lived here, they nearly perished by the new environment and challenges. The native Americans helped them in kindness, and the pilgrims threw a feast in their gratitude.

Since then, this thankfulness has evolved into a day where we reflect and show our thankfulness. During our meal, it is traditional to go around the table and share with everyone what we are thankful for.

@Emily this meal is shared for many people. There are also lots of leftovers for future meals - usually for three or four days.

@Sa Ad it is very good! Your accent is there of course, but it is not very heavy. I can easily understand you.

@Setsu춘향 You know... I don’t know...! Hahaha. It is our way of saying it. It is more informal. We will say, “he threw an amazing birthday party” as another example. We just say it this way, even if there are more proper ways of saying such things.
