先日私はレスターシャーにあるフォックストンロックスに行ってみました。フォックストンという場所はイングランドの有名なグラン

ド・ユニオン運河の中央部に位置する交差点です。本線はロンドンで開始して、バーミンガムまで終了し、 全長は２２０キロです。フォックストンの交差点から色々な場所に通じる支線もあります。ロックス (Locks)というのは、水位の異なる河川や運河、水路の間で舟を上下させるための装置のことです。フォックストンで、ロックス(閘門) が沢山あるので、ナローボートで通る時間は一時間以上かかりそうです！
フォックストンインという素敵なカントリーパブにも行きたかったけど、あいにく来月まで休業だそうです。
美味しいエールを飲みたかったから、ちょっと残念でした。でもオリーちゃんと一緒、訪れたフォックストンは楽しかったです。今度ナローボートも乗ってみたいです。😊🚤

The other day I visited Foxton Locks in Leicestershire. Foxton is a junction located in the centre of England's famous Grand Union Canal. The main canal route starts in London and ends in Birmingham and is about 220 km long. From Foxton there are several branch lines of the canal that take you to various other places. The word 'Locks' means gateways that allow boats to travel through waterways and canals that have different water levels. At Foxton there are many of these locks, so therefore it apparently takes more than an hour to pass through them!
I tried to go to the countryside pub called The Foxton Inn, but unfortunately its closed until next month, which was a pity as I wanted to try some delicious ale. 🍺
But, myself and Olly the dog enjoyed our visit to Foxton Locks, next time I'd like to go on a barge as well.
