Psychologist Carol Dweck coined the term "growth mindset." She
coined this term, along with its opposite: "fixed mindset." A fixed mindset is one where you assume your character, intelligence and creative ability are static things that you can't change in any meaningful way. The danger of having a fixed mindset is that, if you believe something is fixed (for example your intelligence) it has negative consequences for how you learn. 122
