A friend shared this excerpt to me, a bedtime story to listen

to perhaps?

English Listening: Little Prince

“...an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you. But in herself alone she is more important than all the hundreds of you other roses: because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe; because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen; because it is for her that I have killed the caterpillars (except the two or three we saved to become butterflies); because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled, or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing. Because she is MY rose."

It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important

It occurred to me a French musical of the little prince. Several songs from it used to be my favourite. I was confused with the rose and the fox even the little prince when I read it for the first time as a little girl. Although it is said that it's a children's story I think it is adults with ample experiences who can truly comprehend the metaphors in it. By the way, I like your accent. ❤
