Hey everyone!

I have an English phrase/word for you today! The

phrase or word is “ballpark / ballpark figure”

This just means a rough estimate - like a reasonable guess

For example: Hey John, I know we don’t have the numbers back for this quarter - could you give me a number that you think is in the ballpark of where we will be?

Hey Todd - I would ballpark we are at about 12 million

I hope that made sense to everyone - if you found this helpful please throw a like or comment below! Thanks guys have a great day!

@太阳宝宝 ballpark is referencing a big stadium where American baseball is played so the analogy is that your guess falls within the ballpark - the ballpark is big so the guess doesn’t have to be close - it just has to be in the ballpark - or in the general area

@Ben thx a lot.I got it through your explaining in detail. However , I think the word in the sentence “Hey Todd - I would ballpark we are at about 12 million” is a verb .
