Here's a cute word that might useful in a work setting:
Lollygag


It means to fool around and waste time, typically while on the clock. It's a bit old fashioned, but also mild and polite.
Similar is to dawdle; moving slowly. Good off, slack off are more current usage.

    Are those words New York English or slang, lollygag,goof off and slack off? They are all new words for me, but interesting. I think the politicians in Japan spent a lot of time lollygagging , too.

    @あゆみ ayumi well goof off is probably slang and a bit dated. Maybe an East Coast thing. Slack off is well understood by everybody I think. Lollygagging might even be archaic at this point. I also realize you could describe your day as a tourist wandering aimlessly as lollygagging.

    I think it is a great word to spice up your speech I like such words Goof off doesn't seem too dated. I've heard people use it
