YAYOI KUSAMA: “You Who Are Getting Obliterated in the Dancing

Swarm of Fireflies” exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum

This is one of Yusama’s infinity mirror room exhibit. Inspired by a Japanese folktale of a person within a field of 10,000 fireflies. The obsidian room is fully lined with mirrors and suspended with LED lights.

It’s one of my fave! As the lights slowly flickers on & off in a rhythmic pattern, it gives you a feeling of being levitated amongst the stars ✨ or surrounded by fireflies.
