とてもかぜのつよい日。- A very windy day.

I have quite a few observations

to share today, so let me break it up into two parts.

Part 1 - Pumpkin patch 🎃

I went to a farm today to check out their pumpkin patch. It is a Halloween tradition over here. Families go the pumpkin patch to pick their pumpkins which they will later carve and display at their house. In addition to picking pumpkins from the field, a farm will have a stand and sometimes kids activities like a corn maze and even farm animals on display. This was a smaller operation, so they had a small maze and a nice farm stand where all kinds of pumpkins could be bought in addition to vegetables and decorative corn.

The weather was not the best today, very strong wind started blowing and it was partly cloudy with a mix of smoke, but more about that later...

Part 2 is coming tomorrow, it is now past 2am and I should probably get some sleep. 😁

@Kasia The meat is edible, but I have never tried to make something with it. All I've done is roast the seeds. It is a bit messy, but tastes ok. For pumpkin pie, I just go to the store. 😃

@Aya Not this year. In the past I have done carving with my daughter. However, once you leave the pumpkins on the front porch, the elk are likely to eat them. 😄

@Mari These are called gourds. I really like them because of their weird and spooky shapes. I bought a few for table top display.
