Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo Farm.
51 acre botanical garden located in Savannah, Georgia.
The garden’s collection began in the 1880’s when three giant Japanese timber bamboo were planted.
Today the gardens’ collections contain around 60 bamboo taxa, which is the largest American bamboo collection open to the public. The garden’s also feature 40 palm species, 36 different species of camellia which is the largest collection outside of China. Impressive trees can also be found throughout the property including China Fir, southern magnolia, Japanese evergreen oak, lord’s holly, oliver maple, Chinese pistachio and live oak.
Also showcased are roses, native plants to Georgia, and season annuals. Many of the plants are one-of-a-kind and some of the oldest in the United States.
