In England we say hello in many ways 🙂

Hello
Hi
How's it going

Hey
What's up
Alright
hiya

You will hear "Mate" and "Cheers" all the time.

Mate is amigo in Español, cheers is thank you or gracias.

If you hold the door open for someone it is common to hear "cheers mate"

🙂

And cheers also means "salud"? For example, if we are drinking champagne, y chocamos nuestras copas 🤔

How is 'alright' being used as a greeting? Can I just say 'Alright' without anything more like when we say 'hey'?

@Raven That is correct! 1. Alright? 2. Hey, how's it going? 3. Alright mate? All means the same thing, just remember "Alright"is (informal) so use it with people you know. Otherwise say "hello" 🙂👍

@Michael Oh so it is more like '(Are you) alright?' Now I get it. Thanks for the explanation, mate😉(learned from your previous story)
