I want to start introducing some American slang 🇺🇸 words to my

followers. Honestly, when I'm talking to my friends, 90% of my sentences are slang. Therefore, I want to share some of my favorite slang words.

Today's word is bread
Actually, the full expression is "let's get this bread"

In the old days, bread meant money. If you had lots of money, you could buy lots of bread and you wouldn't have to stay hungry.

"Let's get this bread" is used when you are talking about working hard and making money.

Example:
Person 1: It's Monday tomorrow, I have to go to work.
Person 2: Let's get this bread!

Example:
Person 1: I have a physics exam tomorrow. I've been studying hella hard.
Person 2: Let's get this bread!

Example:
I get my paycheck today. Let's get this bread!

This expression is very popular among colleges aged or recently graduated people. Obviously, this word is extremely casual and should not be used in formal situations.

I didn't know this! I knew "dough" for money, though. In Spanish from Spain we use use something similar for money: "pasta". What do they use in other countries?
