To everyone who messages me saying they like the “British accent

,” please realise that there are hundreds of accents in the British isles (I’ve included an ‘Accent Map’ I saw recently).
We don’t all sound like Harry Potter and have afternoon tea with the Queen 😜

i think some of the British accent is quite difficult to follow, for example,I can't understand English with a Scotland or Ireland accent 😔

@Carlos I guess the accent most people are accustomed to is the London accent. It’s what you’ll hear on the BBC

Interesting!!! All non-native English speakers like us usually get used to accurate English accents such as London, American or sometimes Australian accent. It depends on a teacher who teaches you

Sometimes when we got used to those kinds of accent and suddenly have to communicate with English speakers who have different accents. I have to admit that is a real challenge, we've got to stop and listen carefully to be able to recognize them.

Nice! Giống như khi các bạn học tiếng Việt mà nói tôi thích giọng bắc or giọng nam...... điều đó không quan trọng. Người Việt nge đều hiểu cả.

I think there is a standard like Received Pronunciation. Like we have many dialects but mandarin is official

@Claire sure, but “dialect” and “accent” aren’t the same

What they mean is London accent....

@幸运星 In that case, they should say “London accent,” but even that isn’t real. London itself has a lot of accents. What they really ‘mean’ is the BBC accent
