A tale of two young men.

There once was a girl who was very

diligent and studied hard and obeyed her parents in all things. One day she complained to two young men that she was exhausted and needed a break but her parents were making her continue to study. Both young men decided to quote
verses from the Torah/the Old Testament of the Bible to encourage the girl.

Young man 1 told the girl "Honour your father and your mother so that you may live long in the land" – Exodus 20:12
Young man 2 told the girl "There is no end to the writing of books, and too much study will wear you out." Ecclesiastes 12v12

Which young man do you think won the girl? 😄

@Bach Young man 2 validated how the girl was feeling rather than trying to make her do more of what she didn't want to do. The verse Young man 1 quoted told the girl to continue to study like your parents wanted. She chose to date young man 2 because she was intrigued by the unusual answer and the cleverness of finding verse that matched how she felt. Young man 2 appeared to understand her better ☺
