Ayers Rock/Uluru quick facts 🪨🇦🇺✨

- Did you know that Uluru

is located in the center of Australia, also known as the heart of the Australia 🇦🇺

- It takes about 3.5 hours to walk around the whole rock 💦

- The Aborigines have called it home for over 30000 years 🏠

- The rock was called Ayers Rock by first European/Australian explorer William Gosse, then in 1993 the name Uluru returned and is formally known as Uluru worldwide 🪨

- Over 400 plant types and 21 kinds of mammals animals live in/near the Uluru, calling it home 🦘(rain creates mini waterfalls for them 🌧)

- the Uluru is apparently more bigger underground, the rock spreads for another 2.5km, becoming the land ✨

- the Uluru rock weighs at an estimate 1,425,000,000 tonnes 💦 (1 tonne is 1000kg!?)

- Climbing the Uluru is permanently prohibited/banned since 29th October 2019 😢

- if you visit the Uluru, do not take any rocks/sticks/ anything home (reports that some tourists that did had very bad luck to cursed)😱

I visited the Uluru several years ago but couldn’t climb up because it was too windy. But it was still one of my best experiences and sunset and sunrise from there were just amazing.

Hi, Dom. Your post is interesting. Could you tell me why climbing it is banned?

@Hồng Nhung oh thank you, too many tourists stepping and climbing the rock made it smaller so the locals had to impose the ban 🛑
