Someone here on HelloTalk asked me for some tips about how to

keep a conversation going if their English level is low so I made a video with some of my thoughts. The video is a bit long but is a good way to practice your English listening. Don’t forget to turn on English captions: https://youtu.be/_Cww28e-7zA

@夜未央 I didn’t break it down into simple points but I’ll try to briefly explain. Basically I suggest having a list of questions that you can ask the person, but you need to pay attention to their response and try to build it into a more interesting conversation. And practice different sentence structures so you can have your own responses when they ask you questions. Also don’t worry about making English mistakes. It is better to have an interesting message with mistakes than a boring message that is perfect.

David B. Thank you. Great tips. Although I guess that the main reason why conversations stop is that people have very few things in common. Their interests do not match. I really appreciate those detailed profiles with dos and don’ts so I can save their time and my time and not involve myself in conversations with them. On the other hand, good profile description allows you to see that you can have a try.😊
