HOW TO RESPOND IF SOMEONE SAY "I MISS YOU" - an American thought

...

I prefer to be humble and humorous when someone says BOTH “You're so handsome. I missed you”

I respond,
“So, I see you need glasses -- to see how plain I really look and for you to have better aim.”. 🤪

I've been mostly introverted in my life, but with a disclaimer of being an actor and songwriter. So, I try to find the switch to turn off and on when needed.

But in relationships, it's the easiest thing to simply be honest, and keep it simple.

They say “I miss you.” I say “I miss you too.”

They say, “I love you” I might say, “I can't wait to love you too.”

They hug. I hug back.

They kiss. I kiss back.

They bring a rose. I bring a vase.

They bring a knife. . . I bring cake!

If you're in a relationship, make it a relationship. Don't think it all the way through, but enjoy the moment.

Find a balance without feeling you need to be equal to them. Just find ways to be complimentary.

But, “I miss you too” works great! Stick with that one.

😄 Now I begin to understand that American custom to throw a cake at someone's face! They just defend themselves from the knives.

This information is really helpful! I have a question now, can I say I miss you to customer? Would it cause any confusion?

Just "I miss you" to a customer would be strange. So, no.

@JL If you said, "You've been a loyal customer, so we've missed seeing you. Here's a coupon for 50% off your purchase on your next visit, so we hope you come back soon." Well, that would be fine.
