February 23 is a holiday in Russia.
It’s called “Defender of

the Fatherland Day”.

It’s also known as the “Men’s Day”.
All men regardless of whether they served in the army (colleagues, husbands, fathers, uncles, brothers, and even little kids) enjoy gifts and women’s attention on this day.

Hopefully, women in uniform who serve(d) their country get appreciation and praise for their service too.

There are more than 40,000 women enlisted in the Russian Armed Forces, which constitutes roughly 5% of total active duty forces.
