ちょうじょうはとてもかぜがつよかった。- It was very windy at the top. 🌀

I am very

excited today. I have finally caught up with my recent photos and I can start sharing the cache from my most recent longer hike, which I completed last Saturday.

It was the best one yet for wildflowers and a certain type of wildlife (soon to be disclosed)...

This despite limited visibility due to smoke from wildfires. The trail is a one way very narrow path above tree line, up a mountain crossing streams and passing fields of flowers.

It starts at 3400 meters and tops out at 3820 meters. Up that high, gaining elevation is strenuous because of the lack of oxygen. However, I went slowly, stopping all the time for photos. 📷

And that is also the issue. I have over 500 photos from that day. I went through the first 100, narrowed them down to 28, and narrowed them further for posting here, but it still will require two posts for just this first set. So it may be a while before you get to see everything! 🤣

I hope you are having a great weekend! For me, it is TGIF! 🍺

Such colourful varieties of wild flowers!! What is the bird called? The mountain path looks invinting, but I would probably regret soon after I started walking along. 3820m high is quite a challenge.😂

@Ayano That's a White-crowned Sparrow. Yes, every step feels heavier up there, but when you focus on the surrounding scenery you will forget the fact that you are struggling to breathe. 😂

Thanks for sharing the exciting trail and nice photos 😊 I’ve never climbed Mt.Fuji because I fear that I'll get acute mountain sickness.😰🥺

@Atsuko yes, I kept thinking: ok, I have shot enough columbines already. Let's move on! And then I see this really cool group of them... 😂

@rimi Thank you very much! Fuji-san would be a real challenge. I am not so much afraid of the elevation as the crowds. 😃 The views from up there especially at dusk and at sunrise must be something!

@Nanima ja schon. Besucher hier von der Küste haben ganz schön zu schaffen, wenn sie sich bewegen wollen. 😄 Ein paar Tage braucht es schon für Akklimatisierung.
