This is a wonderful app.
It’s just amazing how I can interact

with Chinese, Korean, and Japanese people and talk about various things.

Other people might be using this app because they might like wuxia, or they love K-pop, or might be into anime and manga.

But I’m mainly here to get raw Asian perspectives. Those things also help me better understand Asian America.

Here’s the thing: Asian Americans are intrinsically linked to Asia.

You see, we don’t call White Americans “Europeans”.
We don’t call Black Americans “Africans”.
But Asian Americans are still “Asians”.

So someone like me who wasn’t born in or even lived in Asia is still an Asian.
And I happily accept that.

And how Asian Americans are seen here is also an accumulation of how people view countries like China, Korea, and Japan.

That’s how we’re linked and that’s why I still want to share Asian American perspectives.

They may not be typical perspectives you would find from a foreigner, but I feel that makes such perspectives even more meaningful.

    I've a question, why does the word "Asian" is always used to refer to Japanese, Chinese or Korean when there are so many countries in Asia and everyone who lives in Asia should be called Asian right?

It may differ across other English-speaking countries, but when people say “Asian”, they mainly mean East and Southeast Asians. I talked about it more here: https://www.hellotalk.com/m/rJMEW4yQRVR0ZD==?id=AbZ1pN
