so I plugged it in to bring some light to the darkness. Delaware, USA

My young aunt had a plastic Christmas tree, she bought and brought it to Hanoi when she worked in Russia long time ago. Now she's still kept it.

@visionQg Right. In this case “plug it in” means to put the electrical plug into the electrical outlet so it is connected to electricity.
