When you think of Europe

, does Spain ever come to mind? What about Madid, the capital of Spain?

For many years, I skipped over Madrid to visit Europe’s more famous cities: Paris, London, Berlin, Rome, Amsterdam, Brussels, etc. However, in February of 2015, I realized that I had made a huge mistake.

Madrid is an amazing city for 3 reasons:

1. The world-famous Del Prado Museum is there. Although it looks plain from the outside, it holds one of the greatest art collections among art museums in the Western world. If you like Francisco Goya, for example, there are many paintings by him in the museum.

2. The food is also inexpensive, delicious, and abundant. Tapas, Tapas, and more Tapas. Need I say more?

3. The people are friendly and helpful. I don’t speak Spanish, so I thought I would have extreme difficulty getting around the city. Fortunately, I didn’t have any problems, as many Spanish people helped me with directions and about pretty much anything and everything under the sun.
