Heya Guys, Redbeard here. More rain, more weird weather, more waiting to get out and have fun. For a lot of people this kind of unpredictable weather is strange but when you look at the Maori name for New Zealand "Aotearoa" that doesn't actually come as a big surprise.


どうもどうも皆さん、赤髭です。ニュージーランドはまたあめ、また変な天気それまたまたちゃんと出かけるまで待たなきゃいけないんだ～～。他の国の人からしたらこっちの天気は変だけど、でもマオリ語でNZは「アオテアロア」と言う名前があるから関係はしてるだろう！

Aさん：Wow, for all the weird weather this place has at least the clouds are amazing

Aさん：あぁ、変な天気の割に雲が綺麗！！

Bさん：Are they? Well they don't call this place Aotearoa for nothing I guess

Bさん：そうかなあ？まぁ「アオテアロア」と呼ばれてるかなそんあ意味があるだろう

Aさん：Ao-tear-a what?

Aさん：アオ。。テア。。何？

Bさん：Aotearoa! It means "The land of the long white cloud".

Bさん：アオテアロア！「長い雲の国」と言う意味だよ！

Aさん：I see, so who came up with the name?
