我用这个app已经超过一年了，在这一年中我遇到了形形色色的人，也遇到了几个真心的朋友。

首先我要说我是一个ABC的女孩

。这个意思就是美籍华人。我父母来自中国，可是我在美国出生长大。我发现很多中国人听到了这些话就不想跟我学英文了。那没关系，但是我只希望这些人可以先多了解我们。英文就是我们的本国语。

也有的时候，我遇到了不太了解我怎么可能在美国出生长大的人。然后所有人都问我，你父母是中国人但为什么你不会讲普通话呢？是因为我们亚洲人在美国出生长大的都要讲英文啊，只是在家平常说中文。我家其实是台山人，都会说台山话，明白粤语，可是没学过普通话，那种中国人。其实很多ABC的父母也可以讲英文，不是很流利的可是也会说日常的话题，所以我们可以讲中文的机会实在太少了然后很容易忘了怎么说。这个牺牲是必须的，人家在美国不会说英文就完蛋了。如果中国学生不知道中文怎么考上了有名的大学呢？是一样的。

我的意思就是我希望大家可以多了解我们ABC。我们也有我们的困难，但是也努力学习啊，别看不起我们。我还没有机会在这个app认识另外个ABC朋友。你们在哪里呀？

最后一句话是我要说有很多人只是说你好，hi，hello。你们的意思就是啥？

那现在到你们学习的时刻了。如果你可以帮我用英文翻译，我会给你一个巧克力饼干 :)

    "hi hello"maybe just they don't know how to chat in English.Many people don't know how to start the topic because they don't know much about foreign culture, and their English level is limited, fluent English communication is difficult for most people.

    我反而觉得像你这种精通两种语言的人才是最适合交流学英语的。不要理那些跟你说难听话的人，我们都鄙视他们，他们就是崇白， 我都跟他们有过冲突。

    你中文算挺好了。其实哪国人会哪种语言我觉得没那么要紧，环境不一样接受的影响也不一样，而且语言毕竟是可以学习的，只是深度问题，当然，个人的要求与期待也是一大原因。嗯，还有就是中华文化，汉字，比较封闭保守，只能活在中国死在中国。但这个对于不深入了解汉文化的人，是没什么影响的。可以进行日常沟通交流就够了

    我感觉是不是ABC 对于别人是否想向你学英语的影响并不大。因为在这里，学习本来也是一种双向的选择，总会有人愿意去和你一起学习，所以不必太在意。生活环境不同因此人也不同，对于ABC 我想有更多的理解，也愿意同你去理解去交流，总之把心放开就好。

    I have to say thatI am an ABC. It means that I am an American Chinese. My parents are from China but I was born and grow up in America. I find that many Chinese people don't want to learn English with me after hearing that . That's all right, but I just want these people can know more about me . And English is our mother tongue.

    Sometimes I met somebody who think it's impossible for me to live and grow up in America and all of them ask me why your parents are Chinese, but you can't speak mandarin. The reason is that our asians who born in America all need to English. Actually, my family is from taishan ,and we can speak taishannese and understand Cantonese.We had never study Madarin .We are that kind of Chinese.Actually,many parents of ABC can speak English .Not fluently,but they can speak daily language. So we have almost have no chance to speak Chinese and it's easy to forget how to speak.The sacrifice is must. If you can't speak English in Americian, you will be over. If a Chinese student don't know how to speak Chinese,but be accepted by a famous University. It's the same.

Last sentence I have to sayI found that many people just say 你好啊，hello, hi.what did you mean? Now it's your time to study.If you can help me translate it into the English ,I will give you a piece of chocolate cookie.

    建议说”英语是我们的母语”instead of “本国语”. 还有你比我在这边见过的ABC中文好很多👍

    不用管那些一听你是ABC就想终止聊天的人。说实在，在hellotalk里面，有不少是奔着找白人BF或GF的，他们不是主要以学习为主。所以，不用管他们。

    @小杜今天说英语了吗 I understand this. I don’t expect people to have a high level of English. I get the “hello” and hi” and then nothing... so now I often do not bother spending my time doing the simple introductions. People just get a lot of messages on here and it’s not realistic, at least for me to reply back to these simple messages. If you make a silly mistake, I will find that much more interesting than just a simple hello. Just my opinion.

    感觉Janet用中文写作水平已经很好了，很难想象不会说普通话的人能够做到！这不就是ABC的优势吗？语法、语言组织架构的大框架已经水到渠成了。上学从书本上学了10多年英语的我们因为用的少所以真正想用英语交流的时候还是会磕磕绊绊啊😓我用这个app不久，希望向你学习，不吝赐教☺ PS:不要妄自菲薄，看不起别人是他们的问题，不是ABC的。

    @John it is hard to maintain proficient in a language/dialect if you do not use it often. At my school, we have to learn another foreign language while using English. As an ABC, you can imagine how hard it is to maintain proficiency in chinese while learning a new foreign language and our usual English studies and classes. I learned 4.5 years of Spanish in school but I have forgotten almost everything...

    @janet to me, my mother’s tongue is also my native language, and I think that is the case for most of people. So in my opinion, 母语既可以翻译成native language 也可以翻译成mother’s tongue. 但是你的情况可能不一样，你的mother’s tongue 可能来自父母，而你的native language 确是英文。

    @李夭 yes, Asian Americans are different. Which one do you think I should use for native language? 母语还是本国语？My mother’s tongue is 台山 or 中文 but my native language is English... so complicated haha

    I have used this app for a year, and I have met various people, also met true friends. First of all, I need to say that I am a ABC girl, which means I am a America born Chinese. My parents were from China,but I was born and grown up in America. I found that some Chinese don’t wanna learn English from me since they heard that. It doesn’t matter, I just hope they can learn us first. English is our mother tongue. Sometimes, I meet someone who doesn’t understand us how can I born and grown up in America. Then they ask me that your parents are Chinese, how can’t you speak mandarin? It because we Asian grown up in America have to speak English, and only speak Chinese at home. My family are taishan, they can speak taishan language, and understand Cantonese, but didn’t learn mandarin. The number of Chinese like them are big. The parents of ABC also can speak English, not very fluently but daily topics are ok. So our chances to speak English are too less,
