Just out of curiosity, do you guys think that lots of users on

HelloTalk use someone else’s photo for their profile, pretend that they’re learning a language when they’re not or make up their profession, etc to impress people? Some of these accounts just feel so fake to me! 😂 Let me know what you think.

    there is fake people everywhere, right? specially in this digital world where people make up a fake profile on twitter and youtube, for example, only to be hatters of someone... that's such a stupid way of living and wasting your time and energy that I can't even comprehend... but, yeah... I think there is fake profiles but I don't waste much of time with them, or at least I hope so

    @Maribel I’m not really talking about that situation. I’m talking about when someone uses a picture that is clearly of someone else and misrepresenting themselves.

    I talked to a person who I met here on hello talk for 3.5 years, till he out of a sudden told me everything was a lie. His name, his pictures, his life, his stories...

    @andré luiz I really don’t understand why this is relevant here. Are you implying that I am using this app as Tinder? Because I tell everyone I talk to on here that I am married and that I have twins. Everything that I have told people on here is true. But when you are learning 3 languages you get 3x the messages and I cannot help every person that messages me. I am going to send you a DM with my inbox so you can see why I can’t reply to everyone. Sorry for the side rant everyone! 😂

    Cheating is widespread even in real life. But I really don't see the point of lying about your life (it's not Instagram) nor your language qualification (everyone is here to learn something whatsoever their level is)

    I've had one chance to face a 'fake person' trying to show what he wasn't. He told me clearly "I'm not here for languages", so I answered him that I'm here for learning some English. 😒
