つぎはカヤックでうみにでてみたい。- Next time I want to take a kayak on the water

🔸️Glacier National Park 🔸️The conclusion

This the final post of my Glacier National Park 3-part series describing my last visit a few years ago. In addition to all the peaks and high mountain passes there are also many lakes, streams and waterfalls.

Most people will stop at Lake McDonald, probably the most photographed place in the park (photos #4-7). The water is crystal clear and the views of the surrounding mountains are stunning. You don't want to miss the Lake McDonald Lodge, a beautiful structure built in 1913. If you can afford a stay, it is one of the best experiences one can have in a wild place, yet in complete luxury. On the other side of the park lies St Mary Lake, the second largest lake in the park (a photo was included in part 1) and there are many other lakes that will simply take your breath away.

An icon of Glacier are the historic beautifully restored red buses that provide transportation between various points in the park.

The hiking opportunities are extensive and you can camp out in the back country with a permit or book a bed in a cabin if you are lucky and find an opening.

As this was fall, I came upon many mushrooms, but natural resources in all national parks are strictly protected. You cannot even take a rock out of the park, let alone pick mushrooms or plants. Please be aware if you go.

I am overwhelmed with the response to my last post. It was featured by HelloTalk and got a huge amount of attention. I will do my best to keep up the quality of my posts.

If you are interested in my photography, I uploaded all the Glacier photos I shared here and a few extras to my gallery. If you can, view the gallery on a larger screen to get the most out of it.

I have fallen behind in updating it. I shall make an effort to catch up!

Thank you very much for your interest!

Wow! This place is amazing! I like kayaking and hiking too. I add this lake to my list of places I want to go on a trip. I posted about my kayaking last year. Please check it out if you are interested in it👇 https://www.hellotalk.com/m/ZvIlVFNuNjWKZD==?id=JNTRvD

@Kumi Wow, great post. I have been thinking about getting my own kayak, but so far I have been renting. I usually just make it once a year. It is really fun, more so than a canoe which to me gets tiring on a lake.

@Jake Thank you for taking your time to see it. I was also thinking about having my own kayak, but it’s enough to rental so far. If I could have more free time to travel, I would think it again.
