A joke in English:

“Recently my neighbor told me that my dogs

have been chasing people on bikes.
I was surprised, my dogs don’t even own bikes.”

@JOJO周粥 The first sentence can be interpreted two ways: 1. The dogs have been chasing people who have been riding by on bikes, or 2. The dogs have been riding bikes in order to chase people. Because the second interpretation is so ridiculous, nobody expects it when the second sentence suggests that the speaker interpreted the first sentence according to the silly second Interpretation! Dogs riding bikes!

@Galen Marek what did you interpret the first sentence to mean? The joke hinges on the fact that the first sentence can be interpreted two ways, and the reader is surprised by the second sentence, which suggests the much more silly interpretation of the two.

@Josh thats the point i ment, the second sentence makes it not funny for a german, it makes it worse, not funny at all sorry... I guess i got a more dark sarcasm and ironic kinda humor 😏 or maybe I just hit the germans have no humor stereotype, who knows 😞😜😁
