Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education

What do you think he means by this ? I’m curious to hear your thoughts 💭

For me, I think of social emotional development right away. Skills such as building friendships, problem solving, taking turns, showing and expressing empathy, modeling appropriate behaviors, inclusiveness, trusting others , etc,.

School now a days are so academic focused that we drill our students to score high on tests, prepare for their future when they are just merely learning how to use the bathroom on their own, and they no longer get have to learn how to problem solve because the adults in their life will do it for them.

To educate the mind is important but for me educating the heart is also just as important. Mental health 101.
