Meaning (1): Stay

quiet

Example: “If you could try and keep it down I’d really appreciate it as I’m trying to study.”

Meaning (2): Lower sth, especially price

Example: “Hey! Check out this super cute sweater, I can’t believe they have kept the prices down for sooo long. Totally awesome!”

Meaning (3): Stop someone from achieving their potential

Example: “I don’t know why you’ve been keeping me down for so long but enough is enough. I’m going to chase my dreams!”
