こんど、いっしょに スキーにいきません か? - Will you go ski with me next time?

(Can you handle expert-only runs? 😆)

Yesterday was another ski day. ⛷Although the temperature was rather high in the morning, it worked out ok. There was a strong wind on top, especially in the afternoon and there was some cloud cover for part of the day, keeping temperatures down. No fresh snow really, but the wind did blow snow on some runs, so if you chose the right spots you still got a nice soft carpet to ski on.

The photos show how the wind whipped up the snow. Also, visibility was very good yesterday, so I took photos of the mountain panorama with some other ski areas clearly visible - the runs cut through the trees.

There was no wait at the lifts as the crowds were light. I guess it's that time of year when people choose to pack away their skis and go biking instead. If there is still decent snow, I hope to get some more turns in this year. There are two weeks left.

I am taking a mini-vacation this week from Wednesday onwards, so perhaps I can go soon again. I have no travel plans, I just want to relax and do some house cleaning, something I always seem to find a reason to postpone... ☠

I'm in a crowded city with a covid 19 infection. I am always healed by the pictures of your magnificent landscape. Thank you 😊

@Hiromi どうもありがとう!I am happy about your comment. I realize that I am lucky. When I had the opportunity to settle down away from the city, yet close enough to commute to work, I did not hesitate. Now I cannot imagine permanently living in an urban area.

@Megumi 𓅫 oh moguls? Wow, you qualify then to be my expert skiing partner! 😄 There is not much more exciting than carving down a slope in fresh powder! I am ok with moguls as long as the snow is not hard, as that is really tough on the legs and I get worn out quickly...

@Atsuko Yes, it's has been that kind of winter. Very dry until March, and finally we got some good storms drop a decent amount of snow. I am hopeful for the remaining days, but sun and high temperatures can always have a big effect this late in the season...

@Naomi I have been skiing since I was 8 or so. I skied some great places in the Swiss Alps. When growing up I would spend at least two weeks a year on downhill skis and a bunch of weekends on cross-country skis. I still love it 😊. My only regret is not having anyone to share the joy. My daughter would join me only on occassion these days.

Oh, I’m so jealous is it normal that you could ski till around this time of the year? Then I wish I could visit there (Is it in Colorado?) and snowboard too☺️

@Tommy yes, the big resorts in Colorado close in mid-April, but the independent ones like the one I normally ski, close in May and the last holdout will sometimes stay open until June. If the weather cooperates late season skiing can be very enjoyable. Smaller crowds, warmer temperatures, good snow base. 😊
