Hey everyone!

I have an English tip for you about the word

“hit”.
“Hit” can be used in many ways in the United States. The most basic broad definition would probably be “to make contact with something someone or somewhere”

Example:
Sarah: Mom! Sam hit me! And now I have a bruise!
In this example Sam physically made contact with Sarah in a forceful manner

Sarah: hey john do you want to hit the gym after work?
In this example, Sarah simply means to go the the gym ie. make contact with the gym

Sarah: dad will you hit the garage door on your way out?
In this example Sarah just means to press the button to close the garage door.
