@昵称 no it does not hurt them, the middle of the hooves have important structures but the outer edges are like human nails, there are no structures or nerves there. Proper balanced trimming and expert shoe making is vital to horse welfare or they will be lame

    马蹄的角质细胞和人的指甲一样,而马因为奔跑在各种路面更容易磨损马蹄,所以为了保护马蹄需要给马蹄钉马掌😃,Milly有两匹马呀?

@two If you wanted to say this in native English - Today the farrier gave Lou and mint new shoes. They have their hooves trimmed every 6 weeks in order to keep their legs in the correct position and stop any pressure on their tendons. Horseshoes are vital to horse welfare; farriers must be trained for ten years to ensure the accuracy of the way they balance the hooves. British farriers are by far the best in the world because it is one of the oldest professions in Britain.

@Michael yes I am very lucky to have my parents support. It is not a sport that I could have done without their help. My parents took me to have horse riding lessons at 3 years old and I really loved it, so they took me multiple times per week and then I was scouted by a coach. I will explain this in short but it is quite complicated! To make money on a horse, it needs to compete and have a winning record, but there are rules about how big the rider of a horse is and rules about the weight of a rider. Also horses can only compete against horses of the same size. So as a child a scout watched me and spoke to my parents and asked if I would compete one of his ponies (small horse), his trainer trained me and I did quite well on the pony and increased its value. So then my parents bought me the white horse when I became too tall for the pony and the trainer sold the pony. I then had a showjumping trainer and trained with my white horse

@Michael I competed with the white horse for ten years and then recently I got the black horse. I bought the black horse as a baby because I can compete her for a long time and train her myself, also the more shows we win the more her value will increase. I have been very lucky to have my parents support because they have given their lives to help me compete; my dad started working abroad so that he can earn more money to pay for the horses and the competitions so he is only home at weekend and my mum works all the time and my mum gets up with me very early every morning and spends 4 hours with the horses taking care of them. It is a life commitment and I’m very lucky ! It’s very hard work but worth it!
