I'd like to thank everyone for the kind words of encouragement

and guidance regarding my post yesterday. I was inspired to keep going. I dont have much experience with calligraphy but I do have a background in art, so this is really fun for me to explore.

Kanji study Is my favorite part of learning Japanese, and after a considerable amount of time watching calligraphy tutorials today (Japanese listening practice as well) I spent this evening testing out the new skills I learned. If anything, this is a fun, stay at home hobby while covid blows over, if it ever does lol!

I named my desk cat "stanky eye trash nabber" because he keeps staring at me with those disapproving eyes aaaaand somebody knocked over my garbage can while I wasn't looking, licked an empty tuna can clean and left a mess, I blame him. It's ok, I guess that's what I get for adoption a $2 homeless cat.

Anytime I'm asked what 事 means, I tell them "you know, it's just a thing, a strange thing, that means lots of things and can be used for several things, it's a very useful thing".

You’ve found a really good hobby to get away with the suffocating situation! Yeah, you’re artistic. That’s awesome. Just keep it up.👍

@Izumi (事) 「水」those are often called brackets, the bold ones you use make the Ji really stand out.

Hello! I am a cat owner and I just wanted to warn you to keep open cans away from your cat :o) A friend of mine had a cat who cut his tongue on the sharp inner edge and it wouldn’t heal because cats are always using their tongues for eating and grooming. It got infected and they had to put the cat to sleep in the end. We leave empty cans in the fridge until trash day so they cannot get to them. Expensive vet bills and the cat did not make it in the end :o(

@Naomi 穎樂 Thanks for the advice but that's a fictitious story about my "desk cat" (please see picture). It's a fake stuffed cat.
