Good evening Hello Talk!
After 16 hours finally arrived back
in Japan! 🇬🇧 ✈️ 🇯🇵 Here’s my short story of traveling during covid.
Leaving London you need a negative Covid test, and upon arriving they test you again in Japan.
Waiting around the airport for 3 hours after a long journey isn’t enjoyable, but I can see how hard the staff there are working to keep everyone safe. Super organized dealing with difficult passengers and speaking English. I have a lot of respect for them.
This sign in the test center made me laugh so much though, it’s amazing.
For the test you have to put saliva into a test tube, so to help out they have kindly pinned up a picture of a lemon and some plums 😂 😂 😂 🍋 🍋
They didn’t need to do it, and it’s a little silly, but it’s that little extra effort that just shows how the Japanese are such a welcoming people. I wouldn’t expect to find a sign like that at Heathrow.
Now I’m staying in a hotel for 3 days at the airport under strict quarantine, so no leaving this room. I get 3 meals a day and there is a security guard in the hallway. I’m not sure if he is there to keep me in, or to keep other people out. Seen as I’m the one who will have been tested 3 times in 3 days I’m feeling pretty clean. I like to think he is there to keep other people away from me now, it must be VIP treatment 😂 👮
I’ll check back in with you when I leave, stay safe and wash your hands! 🧼 🖐 💚
