I watched and felt it from my high school's auditorium windows

when I was a senior. It's by far the most catastrophic thing I have witnessed it my life. It still wounds me now and brings tears to my eyes. There were so many people I knew who were lost that day. Others, friends and family members, who barely made it out alive and still live with this haunting them.

Please pray for those who were lost and be thankful for those who were saved.

Never Forget. Never Forgotten. 9-11-01 <3

It was in my high school too, and we got shocked. For now, human civilization still has a long way to go.

@ We hold the Tunnel to Towers run each year in memory of Stephen Siller and our fire fighters as well as the rest of our first responders. My father was a part of those efforts and it was so difficult to see him come back each day covered in some soot.

@not_fun_bye On September 11, 2001, Stephen, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1, had just finished his shift and was on his way to play golf with his brothers when he got word over his scanner of a plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Upon hearing the news, Stephen called his wife Sally and asked her to tell his brothers he would catch up with them later. He returned to Squad 1 to get his gear. Stephen drove his truck to the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, but it had already been closed for security purposes. Determined to carry out his duty, he strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back, and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he gave up his life while saving others. His family made a foundation in his honor and it's now a huge foundation that helps veterans and other officials.
