最近、お気に入りの芸術家 HRギーガーの芸術についてモーメントを書いた事ある。
東京に位置したHRギーガーのテーマのバー

があった事をご存知だった？
港区の白金台で、1989年にオープンしました。インテリアとメンユーはスイス人芸術家のバイオメカニク的なデザインに基づいた。

しかし、日本の地震を意識的な厳しい建築基準法は彼の芸術的ビジョンを制限する感じた為に、ギーガーさんはプロジェクトから離れた。

残念ながら、東京のギーガー・バーの寿命が短くて 数年以内までにもう商売をしなかった。
1996年で、かつてギーガー・バーを収容したビルが最終的に破壊された。

ニューヨークでもギーガー・バーあったけど、あのバーも不運で特徴付けられて、閉店した。
ギーガーさんの故郷のスイスでは二つのギーガー・バーをまだ残っている。僕のの将来死ぬまでに訪れておきたい場所のリストに加わりた。

最後に東京のギーガー・バーのインテリアに何が起こったのかという疑問が常にある。🤔
東京のどこかで、誰かギーガーのテーマのアパートに住んているの？

I recently wrote a moment about the work of one of my favourite artists, H.R. Giger.

However, did you know that there used to be an H.R. Giger themed bar located in Tokyo?
'Giger Bar' opened it's doors in 1998 and had an interior and menu based entirely on the Swiss artist's dark 'biomechanical' designs.

Though Giger later distanced himself from the project, feeling that Japan's strict, earthquake conscious, building codes were restricting his artistic vision.

Unfortunately, the bar had a very short lifespan.
Within a just a couple of years it was no longer in business and by 1996 the building that once housed it had been completely demolished.

There was also once a Giger Bar in New York, alas that too was ill-fated.
There are currently two remaining 'Giger Bars', both located in the artists native Switzerland. I think I shall add visiting them to my bucket list.

I find myself wondering what ever happened to the interior of the Tokyo Giger Bar? 🤔
Was it simply scrapped or is there somebody somewhere in Tokyo living in an entirely Giger themed apartment?
