My in-laws are moving to a smaller house soon. They feel overwhelmed

by all the things they have accumulated over many years. To avoid the same situation, my husband and I have started getting rid of things we no longer need and only keeping things that give us joy. We already discarded old computers, books and DVDs. My youngest daughter wants to keep many children's books, which we are saving in the plastic bins. I guess children’s books gave my daughter happiness. 📚😃
I haven’t looked at the middle and high school books yet. 😅
We’re keeping some DVDs. 🥰

@mihae When my daughters were younger they spent many hours reading children’s books. Once they turned teens they did less reading. 😅

@.. I’m keeping my DVD player as I have some favorite DVDs I could not discard. 🤗 We threw out PlayStation quite some time ago when we replaced it with Wii. Now hubby mentioned about buying a new game console. 😏

Wow, that's good for you👍 I agree "keep things that give you joy"! I try to get rid of things several times a year. I ask myself if I need it or not "now", it is suitable for me or not "now" , and if I am comfortable with it "now"😊

I almost cried when I got rid of my DVD player and discs. Lol Sometimes you’ve just got to let things go to make space for new memories. Happy that you kept some of her childhood books for her. 🥰 I remember you gave some to a friend to make new memories for her new family. ✨ I still don’t know what to do with my game consoles. Ha-ha
