오늘의 영어 꿀팁: "sure it is"

"sure it is" / "sure it was" / "sure

you are" = 빈정거림

"sure it is" 말하면 상대방을 안 믿거나 상대방이 거짓말 하고 있다고 생각해요.

A: This hotel is great.
B: Sure it is.

A: It only takes 5 minutes to get there.
B: Sure it does.

A: I'm only 5 minutes away!
B: Sure you are.

use this phrase (B) to joke around OR to express annoyance at the other person (A).

행복한 토요일... 이제부터 홍대에 있는 술집에 있을거예요. :)

@Ethan usually negative. but you could make it positive, like 물론이죠/당연하죠. "I'm really funny!" => "Sure you are. But being funny isn't everything."

@Grace 네, "of course" can be sarcastic. but this phrase is more obvious/clear about intent.
