Today’s topic: Hypothyroidism

vs hyperthyroidism

The instructions are to read 📖 the following sentences and listen to the audio 🔊 to compare your pronunciation versus mine. If you’re feeling confident record yourself reading the sentences aloud and post them in the comments section.

Let’s begin❗️

Hypothyroidism: A condition in which the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroxine hormone.

Hyperthyroidism: Is the production of too much thyroxine hormone. It can increase metabolism.

Hypo causes symptoms like slowed metabolism, tiredness, and weight gain. Having an underactive thyroid can decrease or slow down your bodily functions. With hyper, you may find yourself with more energy, as opposed to less. You may experience weight loss as opposed to weight gain.

Hi! I was wondering.. Is there a name for the person who has hypothyroidism? Here I am "hipotiroidea" but I'm not sure if there's a word in English for it. Thx!
