There are a lot of yard sales in my town today. A yard sale is

when people put items they no longer want out in their front yard or driveway and sell them very cheaply. Many people are driving around stopping at all the yard sales hoping to get a good bargain.

@Marie In my town you have to get a free permit and you can only hold 4 yard sales a year at your house. This is to prevent people from running it like a business where they have a sale every day.
