continuation of my summer trip journal - Day 6 (Part 15):

We are still at the lake in the early morning. More shots of the area to show here. Simply a marvel of a campground and one I'd like to revisit some day.

Well, after breakfast it was time to pack up and move on. I had researched a hike to another lake beforehand and so we made that relatively short drive. However, only a short distance in after finding the turnoff from the highway I realized it was probably not a good idea. The road was just an unpaved forest road and very rocky and uneven. With my car I just don't have enough ground clearance for these types of roads, so I decided to turn around before I'd get stuck or damage something.

Instead, I found a turnoff for a different lake. Wow, what a beauty (starting with #6)! We took a short hike part way around the lake. There was an osprey flying over the lake and I managed to get somewhat of a decent shot. This was also the spot of what I call a magic forest of mushrooms. This will require its own journal post, so I will close out this long tale of mine with a parade of mushrooms next time... 🍄
