“In the heat of the moment”

Sometimes people

let their emotions get the best of them in emotional circumstances. In a fit of anger you may have said something to a loved one that you really didn’t mean. Maybe when you were on a date you let passion and romantic energies override your logical thoughts. Maybe when you were so happy and overjoyed about a work promotion that you took your entire family out to a restaurant to eat without thinking about how much the bill might cost. In each of these situations, you are acting “in the heat of the moment.”
