Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post! HelloTalk has become my creative outlet, both in writing - I try to put my thoughts into words - and in sharing photos. When I started HelloTalk earlier this year I had no idea how my daily life would change, cutting off virtually all in-person communication. This app has helped me cope...

I see a lot of German (and a few Czech) language learners among my followers and I am sorry about posting only in English. It comes down to convenience, I guess. If you want to engage with me in German or Czech please do so! As for my Japanese, my progress is rather anemic, so I can really only focus on a few words in each post to make it manageable and provide me a learning opportunity. If any of my writing produces questions or thoughts please comment or message me. I always get excited when people reach out!

Today's photo series is from my Sunday hike. It was another beautiful warm fall day. I was taking photos into the afternoon sun, so there are some lens flare effects, even though I had my lens hood mounted. There were again lots wonderful shapes I encountered so I attempted some close-ups again. Such delicate plant parts! The areas shaded from the sun are still partly covered by snow and ice. It's probably here to stay now until springtime. The next storm is coming soon in all likelihood.

I will be on edge tomorrow. I will be glued to the TV and the blogs. Ugh! Will definitely have drinks ready, whatever happens... ✌🥃
