 Meaning: Be quiet
 Example (1): “When I was growing up I’d always button up if my mum was angry as speaking would only make things worse.”
Example (2): “Every country has sensitive issues such as politics, race, religion, gender and rights. I think these can be very interesting and eye-opening to talk about but you need to know when it’s better to button up. People can be easily offended.”
