Phrase of the day “Just around the corner”

We use this phrase

to say that something is close in time or space.

It’s used informally, and can be both spoken or written.

Here’s an example:

Stacey 🗣 “I can’t believe we’re in 2021 already...I need to start looking for a boyfriend before Valentine’s day!”

Debbie 🗣 “Yea, it’s just around the corner. It would be nice to have someone to share it with”

У нас говорят, "Не за горами", например: "весна не за горами!" Может это быть похожим сравнением?

Hey Olga, I had to translate that, but if that was “not far off”, it’s pretty much the same yea. “Not far off” can also mean that something was close too though..for example: “You answered 9, but the correct answer was 10...so not far off”
