Some Haiku Poems.

Part 2.

Spring rain—
just enough to wet tiny

shells
on the tiny beach

—BUSON

Each time the wind blows
the butterfly sits anew
on the willow

—BASHŌ

Domestic ducks
stretch their necks
hoping to see the world

I would love to hear the original versions of these in Japanese if anyone would like to post them. 😄✨

There's a mandarin duck in the 3rd painting. ☺ The other one is domestic duck.

haha~~sorry, just found that I made a mistake. Actually they're a pair of Mandarin Ducks. one is male, another is female. they're a couple. 😃 In chinese, we call them ""yuan yang鸳鸯”. yuan is male which looks more gorgeous. we often imagine them as a couple of lovers.

@cl Ah wow! Thank you for the additional knowledge. I didn't think of it at the time but this happens with other bird species too, with the males sporting extravagant designs. For example, in peacocks, mallards, grosbeaks, and pheasants.
