Idiom of the Day

“Pulling your leg” (or his/her leg, my leg

, etc.)

If someone is “pulling your leg,” they are telling you a believable lie to make a joke with you. These will be little lies to get someone excited, only to laugh about it later. Maybe someone would say to you, “Oh! That man over there winked at you!” Or, “Hey! Let’s go skydiving!” when you are actually terrified of trying it. Anytime you joke with someone like this, you are “pulling their leg.” If you think someone is lying to you, you can even ask, “Are you pulling my leg?”

In Arabic we say " pull his leg " . But it means to make someone admit something, where you would go and try to get information from him without his knowledge ( that you're actually trying to make him tell you ) with just tricking him by your words.

@Free Ahmad Manasra I love this! I enjoy learning different ways that people say things. Idioms are fun to learn in any language. 😊
