Phrase of the day “Deep Down”

We use this phrase to say that

deep inside ourselves we know or feel something that perhaps we have not admitted to ourselves or others.

It’s used informally, and can be both spoken or written.

Here’s an example:

Mark 🗣 “I’m sorry to hear that you and Debbie split up. You were together for years”

Tony 🗣 “Thanks..but deep down I knew she wasn’t the right person for me”

@Junn very well spoken, I think you mis pronounced “Debbie” as Dobbie, but don’t worry. Overall, very good

@Mary Your pronunciation is clear. I think your next step would be to just speak English as frequently as possible to bring your speed up naturally over time. Well done overall though, very good job 💫✨✨✨

@RootLu very nice, and a good pace. Literally the only word I noted for feedback was “example”...the L sound here is very subtle and can trip many English learners up. Great job though ✨✨✨

@Jane here some words you can revise: Phrase Admitted Informally Written I would recommend focusing on words starting with PH, words including R or L and words containing a double T sound. Keep going, you’ll absolutely get there, just got to keep trying 💪✨✨
