Different ways to say how you feel

Usually when we're asked

"how are you?", we respond with the standard "I'm good" (which is not the best gramatically speaking), or "I"m fine". It's helpful to expand your range of responses as a way of boosting your English and making your conversations a bit more interesting. I've listed some suggestions below...positive and negative feelings to use when appropriatem. I hope they're helpful😊

Positive

I'm doing well
I'm winning or at least in the fight
I've never felt better
I'm having a great day/night so far
I've recently had some exciting news
I'm in a positive space
I can't complain/at all
I have nothing to cry about
I'm feeling grateful in general
I'm approaching life with a smile
I'm full of hope
I've had a great start/end to the day
I'm full of energy
I feel inspired
I'm ready to take on the day
I'm glad to be here talking with you
I've just made some changes that I feel good about

Negative

I'm feeling/I've been feeling down lately
It hasn't been the best day/week
I'm feeling worn down/mentally shot
I've been in a bit of a funk
I can't be bothered doing much
I just want to sleep
The world is cruel sometimes
I've had better days to be honest
It's been one thing after another
I must be paying for something I did in another life
I've been up and down
I feel run down
I just need to get away for a bit
I haven't like doing much recently

Hi Mary Sorry for not replying sooner...that's a great question. If you want to describe your present state...it might be better to say "I'm feeling down"...when you include "lately", you're also describing past feeling/state...hope that makes sense. If not, feel free to send me a message. Good luck with your learning and I wish you the very best😊
