I have another English tip for you today! The

phrase is “what in the world”

The phrase is used as an emphasis in questions - especially to express astonishment or disbelief
Example:
”What in the world” was he thinking driving all that way on a flat tire?

    @June although I am no linguist I would say in certain circumstances it could be used interchangeably but it probably used more often within a question
