食べ放題

しゃぶしゃぶと寿司を食べに出かけました。ショートケーキのバースデーケーキも食べました。家族と楽しんで、幸せです。
We went out for all-you-can-eat hot pot and sushi. And we had strawberry shortcake as well. I’m happy to spend a nice time with my family.

僕のプレゼントはスイッチのゲームのピクミン3。息子と一緒に遊びます。20年前ぐらい、ゲームキューブで最初のピクミンを遊びました。
My present was Pikmin 3 for the Switch. I’ll play it with my son. About 20 years ago, I played the first Pikmin, on the GameCube.


僕の父から面白いカードが送られて来ました。カード中では書いてもなかった、紙では書いた。パパの冗談です。面白い、僕の父。笑いました。
My dad gave me a funny card. He didn’t even write inside the card, he put in a little slip of paper instead. Dad’s joke. Funny, my dad. I laughed.

    @Yosh then I think if that offer was in the UK, it would just say (for example) “tomatoes - small box £1, medium box £1.50 (etc) self-service” though I don’t think we have such an offer in uk supermarkets

    @Yosh I haven’t noticed. I think my supermarket everything is pre packaged, singular or sold by weight. This kind of deal that you mentioned would be “put as many tomatoes as you can into this plastic box for 500 yen”?

    @Yosh I’ve only heard “all you can eat” and “all you can drink”. I’m not sure when you would use the other phrases you mentioned, but they don’t sound particularly wrong. Otherwise, they might use the more regular grammar “as much/many as you can” or “as much/many as you like”
